What ever your strategy – Re-Think, Re-Use, Re-Purpose or Recycle
We call it… Re-Timber
- Are you about to salvage timber from a renovation or alterations and additions and re-purpose it?
- Want to purchase 2nd hand timber or a repurposed hardwood beam and re-use it?
- Are you a builder that has timber lying around (long time since it was originally graded) and want to use it?
- Has council, engineer, building surveyor or certifier asked is that timber “fit for purpose”
Our question is “How do you know?”
We solve this problem by coming to you and grading the timber (in-situ, stored on site, factory or shop) to Australian Standards including the proposed FWPA Standard G01 Recycled Timber providing structural or visual grade certification so that the timber can be re-used and is “fit for purpose”.
We visually grade, test the timber and provide certification for re-use.
Piece of mind for builder, engineer, certifier and home owner!
There is a value (sentimental, environmental or monetary) of the structural timber hidden in the walls or roof space of existing buildings. Makes sense! Don’t think Waste, think Re-Timber!
Out risk reducing cost competitive service reduces demand for new resources and keeps materials in circulation longer, helping you and our forests/planet.
We consider & provide;

- Species Identification
- Strength group for hardwood, softwood and recycled timber
- Strength grade, durability & if suitable for BAL rating
- F rating for new timber or F rating for recycled timber
- Moisture content measured
- Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) tested
- Modulus of Rupture (MOR) calculated
- Recomended bending strengths
- Proof that it is not waste, avoiding NSW waste levies if removed from site
All in accordance of AS 2082, AS 2858 & FWPA G01 Recycled Timber.
Each piece of timber is stamped with a web link to the certification.
So, if your goal is to re-use timber, reduce the carbon footprint or let the timber tell its story of service, Re-Timber it.
Other services offered as required;
- Dressing beams for visual re-use (subject to size)
- Filling holes, resin, minor repairs
